Today I met one of those impatient patients at the clinic today.
(I wonder how the word 'patient' came about..... Did it first come from the word meaning 'having the ability to wait' or the one meaning 'sick person visiting the doctor'. Either way, they are complete opposites.)

They should seriously consider changing the official word of 'sick person visiting the doctor' to impatient.

Anyway... This person went into the Dr's room already la. Then she came to the counter and thought we got her medicines already. But then she realise oh it's not her turn yet, so she tell me "I know it's not my turn, but later I want a receipt." Having heard her, I said "OK". At this point I didn't know she's seen the doctor already.

So I went on to look for more cards to dispense medicines for. And there really was cards la.

After awhile, she got pissed when my senior asked her if she's seen the doctor. So now the impatient pin the fault on me for not getting her card and making her wait, coz she feels very uncomfortable.

So I quickly dashed back to the card slots and tried to find her card.

Turns out someone (not me), placed the card at the place for people who never respond to Q-number calls. And the doctor didn't do that coz it was inaccessible for him. Someone chucked it in that place!!

And then I rushed to type all her meds, grab them, got her MC and all. When I was wrapping her meds, she gruffly said, "AND YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO APOLOGISE?!"

Fish man! I am busy preparing your medicines, and I was planning to sincerely apologise to you after I've settled everything! Now YOU make it seem so insincere by asking me to do so. How I know someone put your card in the dump slots!

Anyway at that moment it was SO freaking awkward. Because honestly, I wanted to ask her if she wants to get me fired. If she really does, though, on top of an apology I would add in words of gratitude because she will save me the effort of trying to resign.

Well, today was full of people like that. Impatients.

That's why I don't really like that clinic either. I don't have any patient records in the clinic, and never will. Somehow their patients keep coming back. I never had such problems except for once with my family clinic. But that time I actually recovered fully before I had to go back for another infection.

Plus, my family clinic isn't one that is filled with impatient people making a fuss over everything. Everytime I've been there for the past 10 years, everyone waited patiently. Also, it has TV, and a toilet, and a computerized patient record system.

In my working clinic, even though it is more expensive, more people.... They don't have TV. They don't use a computer system and is still stuck with the rotten cards system. If it was computerized, today's problem wouldn't have occurred.

Maybe that's why Wclinic has impatients... Coz they have no TV to watch.

Blahs.

What is wrong with the clinic manz!
